Responsible support of AI means developing and using AI systems in a way that is ethical, safe, and beneficial to people and society. This
includes designing AI with human values in mind, mitigating potential
harms like bias, and ensuring transparency, fairness, reliability,
privacy, and accountability throughout the entire AI lifecycle.
It's
a collaborative effort involving developers, organizations, and even
users to promote trust and align AI with societal principles.
The most noble non-profits organizations actively promoting responsible AI include the Algorithmic Justice League, which focuses on bias, the Responsible AI Institute and IASEAI, which develop standards and frameworks, and others like HealthAI and the International Red Cross which apply these principles to specific sectors like health and humanitarian aid.
Diverse organizations such as the International Association for Safe & Ethical AI (IASEAI), the Observatory of the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence (OdiseIA), and the AI For Good, another AI 4 Good are dedicated to AI's responsible development and impact.
